Varietal: 100% black Malvasia
Age of the vineyard: 30 years
Altitude: 350 m. a.s.l.
Soil: clay with a large quantity of loam.
Training: Spurred cordon
Vinification: grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand in bins. They are destemmed and gently pressed; the spontaneous fermentation starts after a short cold maceration. The must stays in contact with the skin for 20 days.
Aging: the wine ages in used French oak barriques for 12-14 months.
About vintage 2014 and tasting notes: the 2014’s vintage is marked by average temperatures lower than normal and by frequent rainfalls during the summer until the beginning of September. The colour is an intense ruby red with purple hints. At the nose, aromas are the typical of the varietal, small red fruits and floral notes. In the mouth, a good alcoholic content and the consistency go with a perfect structure balanced between acidity and softness; the tannins are mature and velvety.
